Ilha do Mel Nativo is an environmental initiative based in Pontal do Sul and along the coastal region of Paraná, Brazil. Our mission is to promote awareness, conservation and appreciation of the biodiversity of this Atlantic Forest ecosystem with a special focus on pollination processes and Brazil’s native stingless bees.
For more than four decades, our family has maintained deep connections with Pontal do Sul. This long history strengthens our respect for the territory, its people and its natural landscape. Ilha do Mel Nativo was created from this relationship and from the desire to contribute to conservation, environmental education and the sustainable future of a place that has been part of our lives for more than 40 years.
We believe in the power of education, science and community engagement. Pollinators play a vital role in the balance of ecosystems and in global food security. Through scientific knowledge, citizen participation and cooperation with local partners, Ilha do Mel Nativo seeks to inspire people to understand the importance of pollination for the health of nature and for the well-being of future generations.
Our work involves native bee conservation, coastal ecology, pollination awareness, environmental education and sustainable practices. As we move forward, Ilha do Mel Nativo will continue to develop activities that connect people with nature, strengthen the identity of the region and highlight the global relevance of protecting pollinators and biodiversity.
