The partnership with UFABC plays an essential role in the scientific foundation of the Ilha do Mel Nativo project. In São Bernardo do Campo, we conducted a theoretical and practical workshop on pollination ecology, native stingless bees and coastal biodiversity, combining academic knowledge with field-oriented education. This collaboration reinforces the importance of universities in generating reliable data, supporting community engagement and expanding environmental awareness. Through UFABC’s expertise, our initiatives in Pontal do Sul and Ilha do Mel gain scientific depth, credibility and long-term impact.
Field Workshop on Pollinator Monitoring & Citizen Science — UFABC
On November 7, 2025, our Ilha do Mel Nativo team joined the hands-on workshop “Monitoring Pollinators through Citizen Science” at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), São Bernardo do Campo campus. The session combined a concise theoretical overview with practical field activities and the use of citizen-science tools to record plant–pollinator interactions.
