Rodrigo Castro is the Co-Founder of the Ilha do Mel Nativo project alongside Renata, bringing more than four decades of direct connection to Pontal do Sul and the entire coastal region of Paraná. His family established one of the first residential homes in the area, long before urban growth, and Rodrigo witnessed the community’s long-standing efforts to preserve the territory, protect nature and maintain the environmental balance that makes the region unique. This personal history, built over more than 40 years, forms the foundation of the project’s vision and authenticity.
An entrepreneur based in São Bernardo do Campo, Rodrigo is also the Co-Founder of Human Hand Org, a social-impact organization dedicated to education, community support and sustainable development. Throughout his career, he has created sustainability-focused projects for large companies, developed circular-economy studies, led self-sustainability initiatives and coordinated wide-reaching social programs. This experience aligns directly with the purpose of the Ilha do Mel Nativo project, which integrates education, environmental awareness, citizen science and community engagement to strengthen conservation efforts in southern Brazil.
