Maria Eduarda Freitas

Maria Eduarda Freitas is a biologist collaborating with UFABC in activities related to biodiversity monitoring, environmental education and citizen science. She served as an instructor during our Field Workshop on Pollinator Monitoring and Citizen Science, supporting both the theoretical explanations and the practical field component.

Her participation strengthens the connection between academic knowledge and community learning within the Ilha do Mel Nativo project. By helping translate university-led research into accessible guidance, she contributes to environmental awareness and to the conservation efforts carried out in Pontal do Sul and along the coastal Atlantic Forest.

Field Workshop on Pollinator Monitoring & Citizen Science — UFABC On November 7, 2025, our Ilha do Mel Nativo team joined the hands-on workshop “Monitoring Pollinators through Citizen Science” at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), São Bernardo do Campo campus. The session combined a concise theoretical overview with practical field activities and the use of citizen-science tools to record plant–pollinator interactions.
